The assembly of St. Paul in Rockford is a church where the Bible isn’t just a book on the shelf; it’s our identity, our daily bread, our constant companion. We’re here to be people of the Word—rooted, reading, living, and growing in Scripture. The Word isn’t confined to weekends; it resounds on Saturday, Sunday, and all through the week.
Every week, we gather to hear God’s voice through proclamation, liturgy, and teaching, yet we don’t stop there. We come together midweek, each Wednesday at noon, for Matins—a service of rest, a spiritual refueling station for the faithful. Here, we meet to be still, to refocus, and to return our hearts to the Word that sustains us.
While the State of Illinois works to enshrine and expand the murder of the innocents across its domain, we at St Paul reaffirm and stand fast for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.
The men of St Paul meet together for dinner and lore sessions. The lore of scripture is deep, and what better lore is there to know than the heritage of Jesus Christ?! Join us for fine food and for the richer fare of scripture.
We also organize 5th Sunday Potlucks. Join us for lunch and conversation every 5th Sunday after the service.
